Good morning everyone! We made it home from KC. Lilly did 11 dives while we were there. Wish we could have done more….it is always at about 10 dives we start seeing things emerge. But the last couple of days we have heard new sounds coming out of her. She is doing some “b” sounds. Gunnar is getting pretty excited b/c he thinks bubba will be her next big word! Momma had slowed down for a while but I have heard it again this week several times. Yeah! Now we just have to work on Daddy…he’s feeling a little left out!
We enjoyed our time there with our friends Robyn and Christian. It was nice having some company. The kids are sooo funny together. Lilly steals Christian’s toys and he just grins at her….I think it’s a love story in the making! And of course it is really funny when us moms make up the dialog between our non-verbal children!
We also enjoyed our time spent with our friend Joanna. I knew she was coming down from Iowa but had no idea she had booked a room and was going to spend half the week with us! So glad we had the time together…did you know Ozark, Mo and McCallsburg, IA are worlds apart?!? It’s probably a good thing…our husbands would KILL us if we lived closer!
Before we left for KC, we had been working on potty training. I have to say it is going AMAZINGLY well! With Lilly not speaking, we have just designated certain times of the day where she sits on the potty. She has really caught on! Lets just say she knows what to do when she sits there. It takes about 5-10 min so we take a book or the laptop with us. Sounds bad but you have to ignore her so she will concentrate! Funny. And yes, she is doing both 1 &2!!
This week we are getting things in order and packed to head to Sikeston, MO. This will be our 3 week stay for intensive physical therapy. We are very excited to just have a new set of eyes and opinion. Sometimes you need a new perspective to recharge your batteries. I will be posting a lot in those 3 weeks so you’ll have to check out our progress. We will be there Feb. 1-19. Of course it is always hard to leave behind our family. The older Gunnar gets the harder it is. You would think it would be the other way around! But he is able to express himself better and boy does he know how to pull his momma’s heart strings! My family and Craig’s are a huge help as Craig’s schedule is never the same and strange hours. We couldn’t leave without their help! Thank you!!
We will keep you updated while we are gone. Thank you again to everyone that helped or bought pumpkin rolls….because of you we are able to take this trip!! And thanks for all the compliments on the rolls, too! We are going to try something for Easter. We’ll see what we come up with!! Take care!
