Happy Thursday! Another week is almost over. We have had 17 hbot dives, 3 vital stim treatments and 4 1hr PT sessions. Lilly is really doing great! I am surprised each day at the new sounds she makes. Yesterday we were in the chamber trying to coax "mama" out of her when she said "dada". It was so funny!! Her vital stim therapy works the tongue muscles and I have noticed her making more sounds that requirer her tongue. It also strengthen her throat muscles and after 3 treatments we have noticed that she isn't choking or coughing while drinking. They are all subtle changes that hopefully will add up to some big improvements in drooling, eating and drinking! We did an hour of PT today. The video is from some of it. In the video she is working on standing. She did really well. You'll notice that Tiffany is just helping her balance with fingertips on her shoulders. We start the intensive PT Monday. We can't wait! I'm sure Lilly could wait but I can't! Gunnar came up tonight with one of my friends and her son. Lilly was so excited to see him! Gunnar was excited too...he did my dishes for me! Lilly has some tests tomorrow morning at Children's Mercy. They are doing a MRI and ABR (Auditory Brainstem Response). The MRI is just to get a look at her brain and form a base line for future reference. The ABR will tell us her level of hearing. Both tests are performed under sedation. Please pray for normal, clear results. We want to know without a doubt how her hearing is. We'll keep you posted on the results! Everyone have a great night and thanks for all your encouragement and support!
