Last night in KC

Wow! 4 1/2 weeks have come and gone and tomorrow we go HOME!! I am so excited about what is to come for Lilly! The possibilities are endless! She has gotten stronger and now she gets it. What we have seen over the weekend and the last couple of days is that she may scream and cry in the therapy center but when we are out in "real life" she gets it and applies it. When she saw the Christmas tree in the lobby she held my hands and walked over to it. She wanted to stand and see it and touch it. That is what matters! When I think back to where we were in April I am blown away! In the Spring she wouldn't even put her feet on the ground!! She wouldn't stand, now she can stand up from a bench and get her drink. She can hold our hands and stand to watch the fish in the aquarium. We don't have to lock her knees or have her lean on something. And then the walking....I remember our first day at Beyond Therapy. They put her in the gait trainer for the very first time in her life and I just laughed inside. I thought "no way". Then she was strapped in and held up to where her legs were the only thing that was moving. Now she holds on to the handles herself and supports ALL her body weight. And to walk like a big girl! I just can't believe it when I put it all together!

The journey has been amazing. God's timing is perfect and He is so faithful. The people we have met during the last year have been put in our lives for so many reasons. God provides a way and sometimes that comes in the form of people. From the many people and businesses that have helped fund this opportunity for Lilly to the families and friends who have given us encouragement and prayers. You have all been divinely placed in our path. I pray a special blessing on you and your families during this holiday season.

I'll post an update when we get home and see our therapists. There will be lots of changes that need to be made to keep up with her progress. We have the skills, now we have to work on endurance. Of course we will be coming back in the Spring again. Lilly just really responds in this environment. Everyone have a safe Thanksgiving and enjoy having your family together. Thank you again and we love you all!!
