Summer Time

Hi, everyone! Seems like forever since I last posted. It's been a very busy summer and I can't believe it's almost over. Lilly is doing great! She enjoyed out trip to the beach in June. Loved to curl her toes in the sand and kick at the waves as they came in. She loved to ride the waves in her little seat. The bigger the better! We were too scared to take her out far and waited till the last day. Wish we had done it sooner. She got to take the week off from therapy and we could tell the difference. She is just now getting back into the rhythm of it. We won't do that again!

Lilly just got her new pink gait trainer last week. We had the carpets taken out of the house so she can walk in it. Up to this point she has only been able to practice walking 2 days a week at the hospital. Frustrating how slow insurance is!!! You would think she would be excited to get around the house by herself but in true Lilly fashion, that would be too much work on her part!!! She is definitely our "Lazy Lilly".

We are gearing up for an exciting fall. Lilly will start preschool in August. Can you believe it!! She will be 3 Aug 9! So off to school she goes. I'm sure she will love it. And in September we will be going back to Kansas City for another round of intensive and hyperbarics. We are soooo excited for that!!! Lilly seems to respond better to intensive therapy. First off, she does things only when she wants to. I'm sure there is a lot of you that can relate. And when you only have an hour for therapy, it is really hard to get a lot accomplished. She really needs the warm up time that the 3 hour intensive allows. Second, when all you(Mom) have to focus on is therapy, you get a lot more covered and you don't feel pulled in all directions with someone or something getting the short end of the stick. Life gets in the way sometimes. There is always dirty dishes and clothes at home.

We are having some fundraisers to help cover expenses for the KC trip. Right now my cousin, Heather, is giving FREE 20 min massage with donations benefiting Lilly's therapy expenses. I will post the flyer at the end of this post. She does a GREAT job! Thank you Heather for being a great friend! August my sister and the owner of the salon she works at is doing FREE haircuts. I will post that when we get the flyer done. Thank you everyone for all the encouragement the last couple of months. We are so encouraged to hear of your prayers for us and Lilly. God answers those prayers. Take Care! Tara
